Why I Choose My Mentorship
During the 2012 Presidential election, I became highly interested in learning about the candidates and their policy stances. Watching the debate was fascinating, and I knew that I had sparked an interest in our government. Since 2012, I have been keeping up with the politics and the various elections. I began attending community political meeting where I got the chance to meet with local leaders and learn about what they were doing for my area. When I heard about this opportunity to mentor in my community, I knew I wanted to find an internship in a government setting. I discovered that there was a Congressional office in my area, and inquired about a possible place for me to participate. I was thankful to receive a position, and this year has been an amazing experience.
